About this course

This course dives deep into one of the most powerful data presentation tools available to Excel.  There are no pre-requisites prior to taking this course.  At the end of this course, you should be confident in producing quality PivotTables and PivotTable dashboards that will efficiently provide solutions for data analysis.

This course presents the key points in building PivotTables using video guides and Excel walkthrough files. It will highlight key mistakes and design aspects to avoid when creating PivotTables, and give insight on the design approaches to take to ensure that your PivotTables are not only robust, but efficiently highlight trends in data. We also give you tips on what sort of Tables to create depending on the type of data you are working with. Covering what a PivotTable is, how to format and set value fields, apply filters, grouping and slicers, create PivotCharts and develop an interactive dashboard.

  • This course contains a collection of videos for you to follow, and exercises for you to complete within Excel.
  • This course requires you to use (for Windows) Excel 2016 (or newer), Excel for the web or Excel 365; (for Mac) Excel 2021 (Excel 2019 for MAC support will end in October 2023).
  • The recommended operating systems for Windows are Windows 10 or 11; for MacOS is Big Sur 11 or later.
  • This course requires you to have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.
